Garden Story

Garden Story is a cozy action-RPG where you play Concord, the youngest grape in The Grove, freshly appointed as the village's Guardian. The job: defend the island from invasive Rot, complete daily requests for the local fruit and vegetable population, and slowly rebuild the community across four in-game seasons.

The combat layer is light Zelda-style top-down action against Rot creatures, scaling up in challenge as you delve deeper into specific infested areas. Equipment includes tools for gathering, gardens for growing, and a varied array of items used both in combat and in puzzle solving.

The community-building layer is the heart of the game. NPCs have requests, daily routines, and personalities that develop as you help them. Completing favours unlocks memories that grant Concord access to the powers of previous Guardians, expanding both combat and traversal abilities.

Sessions are designed to be picked up in 12-minute chunks or marathoned across long evenings. Accessibility options include a Perish Prevention mode for players who want to enjoy the story and exploration without combat-failure stakes. Hats and backpacks are collected in every village — yes, your grape can wear them.
