Hot Lava

Hot Lava drops the childhood rule you already know onto fully built environments — school hallways, suburban basements, fever-dream playgrounds — and asks you to traverse them without touching the floor. The camera sits in first person, the lava is real this time, and the routes are dense enough to reward dedicated speedrunners.

Run, jump, climb, swing, boost and surf are the verbs, layered onto worlds with multiple shortcut paths the developers planted for players willing to study geometry. Up to eight friends can drop in and out, with a leaderboard tracking the cleanest lines.

Klei Entertainment built the game on Unity and ships a level construction kit on Steam Workshop, so the community keeps extending the playground long after you've memorized the campaign.
