About Lone Survivor The Director's Cut
Lone Survivor: The Director's Cut is an original, adult psychological survival horror. The masked protagonist must escape a city ravaged by disease by any means necessary, and starving and exhausted, he has begun to question how much of what he sees is even real.
How you survive is entirely your decision. Sneak through without firing a shot or kill everything in your path; eat and sleep well or resort to drugs to keep going; search for other survivors or try to flee the city alone; look after your mental health or descend into madness. The game is an unusual blend of survival horror, stealth, adventure, a virtual pet and a physical and psychological survival simulation, where an invisible psychologist watches your every move and the story molds itself to your actions.
Five years in the making, it offers two entirely different paths with many variations, each running 4 to 6 hours, across more than 125 hand-painted locations with hundreds of items to experiment with and craft. A brave, adult story finds warmth, humor and even hope within the darkness, set to around 35 original pieces of music from UK charting producer Jasper Byrne. The Director's Cut adds a new lighting engine, new areas and an enemy type, three side-quests, two new endings and more, free to existing owners. Note that this version is now legacy, preserved while 32-bit software is supported, with a recoded 64-bit version, Super Lone Survivor, also available.
