Machinika Museum casts you as a curator at a museum dedicated to alien machinery. In a distant future, finding artifacts from extraterrestrial civilizations is unusual but not unheard of, and your job is to receive these devices and understand how to repair them. The mood is contemplative — quiet rooms, beautifully rendered devices, careful observation.

This time, something is off. You haven't been given the usual information about the incoming machines, and the situation has an unusual urgency to it. What are these devices? Who sent them? Why won't anyone give you answers? The puzzles themselves carry the story — solving each machine reveals fragments of what's actually happening behind the museum's typical operations.

The game's lineage is explicit: Myst as the meditative atmosphere ancestor, The Room series as the immediate inspiration for the device-manipulation puzzle style, The House of Da Vinci as the more recent comparable. Mind-bending puzzles built on sharp logic and observation, mysterious sci-fi atmosphere, cryptic alien machines rendered in wonderful visual detail, and intuitive controls that stay out of the way. Two to four hours of gameplay end with the question of what was hidden behind the mechanisms all along.
