Mulaka

Mulaka is a 3D action-adventure rooted in the heritage of the Tarahumara people of northern Mexico. You take the role of a Sukuruame, a Tarahumara shaman, setting out to drive back a corruption blighting the land while calling on demigod powers.

The journey moves between puzzle-solving in environments modeled on real Sierra Tarahumara locations and fast hand-to-hand combat against creatures drawn from regional mythology. The Tarahumara are renowned runners, and the game leans on that athleticism through quick platforming and brisk fights, rendered in a vibrant low-poly style.

Authenticity runs through it: narration in the Tarahumara language, regional music, demigod transformations and the brewing of magic potions all support a genuine portrayal of the culture. The developers also pledge as much as 10% of the game's earnings to NGOs working in the Sierra Tarahumara.
