About Paradise Marsh

Paradise Marsh is a short solo-developed narrative game where the stars have fallen from the sky and scattered across a tranquil wetland. You wake up in this marsh with a bug net and wander procedurally generated landscapes, catching critters that contain the missing stars and slowly returning the constellations to their proper places.

The gameplay is meditative wandering. There are no quest markers, no minimaps, no time limits. You catch frogs, fireflies, and assorted invertebrates each with their own behaviour. You meet celestial misfit NPCs scattered across the world, gather messages left in bottles, find wild flowers and strange mushrooms, listen to birds recite poems.

The world generates fresh on every playthrough, so each session covers different terrain and different distributions of creatures and notes. The bug-catching and exploration loop is the entire game; the narrative emerges through the conversations and the slow restoration of the night sky.

Disasterpeace (FEZ, Hyper Light Drifter) provided the atmospheric soundtrack and sound design. The developer is upfront that this is a short, deliberately small project made with love by a solo dev — closer in spirit to a piece of interactive nature poetry than to a conventional game.
