The Witness

The Witness drops you, alone and with no memory, onto a strange island. You don't know who you are or how you got here, and the only thing to do is explore, searching for clues, hoping to recover your memory and find a way home.

It is a single-player open-world game with dozens of locations and more than 500 puzzles. The design treats you as an intelligent player and treats your time as precious: there is no filler, and every one of those puzzles introduces a genuinely new idea rather than repeating an old one. The result is less a puzzle collection than a game built entirely out of ideas.
