About Pronty
Pronty is an underwater Metroidvania where you control Pronty, an inexperienced young defender, and Bront, a robotic swordfish that functions as both weapon and partner. The setting is the once-great Atlantean city of Royla, now corrupted by toxic waste and overrun by mutated marine life.
The combat system revolves around the javelin. Bront acts as your striking weapon — repelling enemies, removing obstacles, shielding Pronty from harm — while you swim and dodge around him. The push-pull rhythm of throwing and recalling the swordfish creates a unique combat tempo unlike standard sword-and-shield action games.
The environment is mutant sea life made from a horrifying fusion of marine creatures and ocean debris. Some look easy to defeat, but the food chain in Royla is genuinely brutal — there's always a bigger fish lurking around the next coral outcrop. Giant boss encounters anchor major story beats.
The Memory Board system handles upgrades. Swappable abilities and modifiers let you customise Pronty's loadout for different scenarios and play styles. The art style is colorful clean line work depicting a mysterious underwater world, with music and sound design by Behind the Screen composer Paul Su. Post-launch updates added Boss Rush mode in Neptune's Hall and additional difficulty options.
