About Rise of the Triad Ludicrous Edition
Rise of the Triad: Ludicrous Edition is the Nightdive Studios remaster of Apogee Software's 1995 cult FPS, co-produced with New Blood Interactive. The Ludicrous Edition takes the original game and the Return of the Triad expansion, bundles them with restored content cut from the original betas, and adds an entirely new episode created by New Blood, Nightdive, and Apogee.
The technical overhaul covers 4K and Ultrawide resolution support, unlimited frame rates, full controller support, keyboard and mouse rebinding, and a cynically labeled FOV slider. Original 1994 and 2013 soundtracks both ship in the package, switchable via a jukebox. New HUD options, alternate weapon SFX, and the namesake LUDICROUS lighting upgrade the visual identity.
Online and LAN Comm-Bat multiplayer modes ship alongside an easy-to-use level editor and brand-new cutscenes for the original campaign. LUDICROUS GIBS is, as the marketing emphasizes, a documented feature — the game's signature over-the-top dismemberment system updated for modern hardware. The whole package is the most complete version of Rise of the Triad ever assembled.
