Room 301 NO.6

Room 301 No.6 simulates the cognitive impairment faced daily by people with Alzheimer's disease, using fuzzy borders and maze design to recreate the experience. Maze-escape gameplay and the disease's characteristics (a need for strong guidance and support) combine into a single design. Day by day, you step into the psyche of an Alzheimer's patient, traversing mazes and sorting belongings together with your daughter to relive key memories.

The split-perspective interface puts a maze on the left (WASD navigation) and the world around you on the right (mouse interaction). Find pill bottles and use them to counter cognitive impairment by slightly enlarging your field of view. Each day, locate four items of key significance and collect them to relive memories.

The developers' goal is to recreate the genuine experience of Alzheimer's patients and encourage all of us to use our eyes and really take in the world around us. The result aims at providing players insight into both the disease and the people who must deal with it, reliving the last and most heartfelt of their cherished memories together.
