Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is a cyberpunk noir detective mystery and the sixth entry in the long-running Tex Murphy series, returning after a 16-year gap thanks to a successful Kickstarter campaign. It is set in a dystopian, post-World War III San Francisco of the 2050s.

Tex Murphy, the last of the old-school gumshoe detectives, wakes disoriented on the fire escape outside his office to discover that something, or someone, has erased seven years of his memory. Driven by lost love, revenge and the world's strongest coffee, he must retrace his own steps through a maze of unsolved murders, hidden agendas and the lost technologies of Nikola Tesla, solving the mysteries of his past in time to stop a terrifying future.

The game upgrades the classic Tex Murphy formula with HD live-action full-motion video presented in 2K resolution, set against fully explorable 3D environments with no preset nodes. Players face logic puzzles, interactive dialogue and branching storylines leading to five possible endings, across two difficulty settings with a built-in hint system. Its eclectic cast includes Todd Bridges, June Lockhart, Larry Thomas, Kevin Murphy and series star Chris Jones as Tex himself.
