About The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is KING Art's sequel to their cult-favorite fantasy point-and-click, returning to the world of Aventásia a few years after the events of the original. The War of the Two Towers is over and arch-witch Mortroga has been defeated, but the wounds the conflict left across the land are still bleeding — and a new threat has arrived in a form that nobody expected.
The central plot is built around dark magic that's turning the world steadily pink and harmless. Mighty beasts are becoming fluffy plush puppies, towering castles are shrinking into oversized dollhouses, and the question of whether Aventásia can be saved hangs over everything. The four returning protagonists are scattered as the game opens: Wilbur Weathervane the gnome is struggling as a teacher at the reopened School for Wizardry and Witchcraft while an assassination plot threatens Seastone's first democratic elections; elf princess Ivo has retreated to her overbearing mother's kingdom; adventurer Nate and his companion Critter are prisoners on the flying island of the Red Pirate.
The game runs over 20 hours of pointing and clicking through hundreds of weird-but-logical puzzles, with the series' trademark humor liberally spoofing Lord of the Rings, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, Discworld, The Hobbit and World of Warcraft. The Multi-Character Gameplay system returns, switching between the four protagonists for different sections. Kickstarter funding paid for optional side-quest puzzle chains, extra outfits unlocked through side content, and live orchestral recordings of Benny Oschmann's score — the first time most of his much-loved music had been performed by a full orchestra.
