About The Master's Pupil
The Master's Pupil is a puzzle adventure set, quite literally, inside the eyeball of Claude Monet. You travel across the artist's iris, solving puzzles to help him complete some of his greatest masterpieces while a unique biographical story unfolds around you.
The game weaves Monet's life into its challenges. As you progress you encounter the losses he suffered, including the death of his wife Camille, and the cataracts that gradually threatened his eyesight and his craft. Puzzles ask you to consider color, space and timing, and one wrong color combination or move can end the journey, but they test your mind rather than your reflexes, giving you the room to take your time the way an artist would.
Nearly every part of the game was painted by hand with a real paintbrush before being imported into the world, producing visuals reminiscent of Monet's own work and imbued with the developer's personality, set to a rich soundscape by indie composer Steven W. Schouten.
