About The Ninja Saviors Return of the Warriors
The Ninja Saviors: Return of the Warriors is Tengo Project's self-remaster of the 1994 SNES beat-em-up — itself a console spinoff of Taito's 1987 arcade classic The Ninja Warriors. The team took the original console game and reimagined it with extra moves and combos, two new characters, full 2-player couch co-op, fluidly redrawn pixel art, and a freshly arranged soundtrack from Zuntata alongside the original 16-bit and arcade versions as unlockable options.
The roster covers five android ninjas, each with their own unique ninjutsu techniques and distinct play styles. Take the battle to Banglar's army alone or with a ninja partner as part of Mulk's revolutionary force. Combat covers punches, kicks, slashes, juggles, throws, crushes and combos, with each ninja's moveset deep enough to support a different approach to the same encounters. Eight stages across two difficulties keep both casual players and experienced beat-em-up fans engaged.
The remaster preserves the 16-bit visual lineage but expands the playfield from 4:3 to 16:9 widescreen, with heavily redrawn backgrounds, more fluidly animated characters and explosive pyrotechnics added throughout. Multiple difficulties provide challenge for even the most seasoned players, and Time Attack lets you compete on global leaderboards against the world's fastest ninjutsu masters. Tengo Project — the ultra-skilled NatsumeAtari game-smiths responsible for bringing Pocky & Rocky Reshrined, Wild Guns Reloaded and more to modern consoles — built this one with the same fanatical commitment to the source material.
