Transcendence

Transcendence is an open-world, single-player game of space combat and exploration. In the year 2419, humanity has colonized hundreds of star systems strung along a network of stargates built by a dead alien race, but now a god-like hyperintelligence is compelling people toward the Galactic Core, and the Ancient Races have quarantined all of Human Space.

Alone in your ship, you must acquire whatever powers you can and survive long enough to unravel a galaxy-threatening secret. You adapt your strategy across dozens of randomly generated star systems, since no two games are alike, blasting through over a hundred kinds of enemy ships and stations, looting wreckage for better weapons, armor, and shields, and earning unique high-tech gear through missions.

You can earn money by escorting giant freighters, selling exotic ores extracted with seismic charges, competing in the Battle Arena Maximus, or dealing on the Black Market. The core game is a free download, but this Steam edition bundles two paid expansions, Corporate Command and the standalone adventure Eternity Port, and the game is continuously updated.
