About Wayward
Wayward is a demanding turn-based, top-down survival roguelike with simulation and open-ended discovery at its core. There are no classes and no levels, your character advances entirely through the skill and stat gains earned by interacting with the items and objects around you, leaving you free to play and explore however you like.
It follows the traditional roguelike template: randomly generated environments, optional permadeath, grid-based movement, resource and inventory management, and non-modal interactions, placing it close to games like UnReal World, Cataclysm: Dark Days Ahead and Dwarf Fortress. Sandbox survival mechanics layer on top, with more than 750 craftable items, a skill system of over 30 skills, and 60-plus creatures to fight, harvest or tame.
Infinite procedural generation produces five island types, each biome with its own content, and modes span hardcore permadeath, casual respawning, challenge and custom. Beyond more than 35 hours to reach the end-game, supplemental content can run into the hundreds. Wayward also includes online multiplayer with optional PVP, over 40 unlockable milestones, a day-night cycle with temperature effects, character customization, Steam Workshop modding tools and 18 original music tracks.
