About Zeus + Poseidon
This is the bundled edition of Zeus: Master of Olympus together with its Poseidon expansion, the fifth full title in Impressions Games' City Building Series. The setup is the genre's classic: you start with a slip of coastline by the wine-dark Aegean and grow it into a Greek city-state through housing, roads, sanctuaries, trade and the careful management of a finite resource pool.
The mythological layer is what separates it from Caesar III and its descendants. Heroes from Greek myth can be summoned to deal with plagues and monsters like Medusa; gods and goddesses can be appeased into protection or angered into wrath. Combat covers both land and sea, and successful conquest turns neighbors into vassals — fail it, and you'll be paying tribute until you find a way back out.
The Poseidon side of the bundle adds Atlantis: a different culture with its own buildings (bibliotheques, observatories), its own resources (orichalc), and its own architecture topped by the Atlantean pyramid. Sixty-five campaign episodes span seven city-states across both civilizations, and a built-in Adventure Editor lets you write and share your own scenarios.
For anyone who came up on Pharaoh or Caesar III, this is the same lineage in another setting. For everyone else, it's a remarkably patient strategy game — the kind that rewards laying out a market correctly far more than it rewards swinging armies.
