Becastled

Becastled is a cozy-meets-challenging strategy game that combines city building with RTS-like tower defense. You are the lord of the Sun Kingdom, leading its final stand against the Moon Beasts in an ancient conflict between light and darkness. The loop is built around the cycle of day and night: design and build your castle, grow a settlement, and prepare your people for the nightly siege.

By day you gather resources, place buildings, raise walls and lay roads, transforming a humble village into a true medieval city with farms, markets and watchtowers, while keeping subjects happy with taverns and decorations, since satisfied people work harder and fight braver. By night the Moon Beasts strike with battering rams, siege towers and even dragons, and you man the battlements, unleash ballistas, catapults and archers, and hold the line until dawn.

You forge weapons and armor to train an army from basic infantry up to ballistas and trebuchets, and if the walls fall you can rally every villager to defend their home. The land itself can be an ally, with hills, rivers and forests offering natural moats and tactical positions, though shifting seasons can betray you, as a river that shields you in summer freezes solid into a bridge in winter. A strong economy fuels a stronger army as you build, defend, expand and repeat toward ending the ancient war.
