Caves of Lore

Caves of Lore is a solo project the developer built five minutes a day across six years while raising a family. The result is a turn-based, pixel-art fantasy CRPG with tactical grid combat, environmental exploration and a six-character party cap that opens deep build customization.

The content list reads long for a one-person game: over 65 spells, 65 abilities and 65 traits, more than 50 monsters, 40 named NPCs, 30 quests and 20 areas. Loot, enchantments and item combinations multiply into the tens of thousands, and party composition can shift from full-melee bruiser lines to mage-heavy formations that crowd-control through every fight.

The tone stays upbeat and frequently funny even when the story digs into ancient horrors and dark themes. Dialogue, books and ambient lore fill in the world for players who slow down to read, and the developer asks anyone who reaches the ending to drop him a message.
