Crysis

Crysis casts players into an ever-changing campaign that forces them to rethink their tactics and approach across battlefields running from suddenly frozen jungle to zero-gravity alien environments. Set in 2019, the story begins when US scientists make a frightening discovery on an island in the South China Sea, and contact is lost after the North Korean government seals off the area. A massive alien ship soon reveals itself, freezing much of the island and throwing the world's weather into disarray.

At the core of the gameplay is a high-tech Nanosuit that augments a soldier's abilities in real time, letting players enhance speed, strength, armor or cloaking to handle situations in creative, tactical ways. A large arsenal of modular weaponry gives unusual control over play style, from experimental guns and alien technology to custom ammunition such as incendiary rounds and munitions that quietly knock foes unconscious.

Lifelike enemy AI pushes players to read each situation and act proactively rather than simply react. Built on Crytek's proprietary CryENGINE 2, the game set a visual benchmark on release, and its open, physics-driven world lets players choose their own route, destroy obstacles, pilot vehicles from VTOLs to boats, and ultimately face the alien threat in a zero-gravity showdown.
