DOOM Eternal

DOOM Eternal turns the 2016 reboot's combat into a closed-loop resource economy. Glory Kills refill health, the chainsaw refills ammo, and the new shoulder-mounted flamethrower refills armor. The combat arena becomes a puzzle of which resource you need next, and the demons are the chess pieces you take to get it.

The Slayer's moveset expanded outward: a retractable wrist blade, a dash, double-jumps and air-dashes, weapon mods refined since the previous game. The campaign takes you across demon-occupied Earth, Mars, and through dimensions still farther afield, each environment built around vertical combat geometry that punishes ground-only thinking.

Battlemode is the multiplayer mode shipped at launch: two-on-one matches where one player drives a fully armed Slayer and two others play demon archetypes coordinating ambushes. Five-round best-of structure, asymmetric balance, and a clear philosophical line — id wanted multiplayer that came directly out of the single-player vocabulary rather than a separate shooter inside the same package.
