About GearBlocks
GearBlocks is a wide-open sandbox aimed at anyone who enjoys building machines that genuinely work. You might put together a car with rack-and-pinion steering and a working drivetrain complete with a differential, a parkour course of motorised bouncy platforms, or an unstoppable walking mechanical elephant, with physics as the only real limit.
More than 200 parts are on hand, among them motors, gears, pulleys, joints, springs, and actuators. You can build or repair anywhere on the map, snapping parts together, resizing them, swapping their materials, painting them, and linking their behaviours into a working whole.
Machines react physically when you turn, grab, or shove them, so you can drop into a driver's seat and test a vehicle or smash a build to pieces. An in-game tutorial and example constructions teach the fundamentals, challenge scenarios put your work under pressure, Lua scripting opens up custom tools and mini-games, and the workshop lets you trade creations with the community. You can even shape rag-dolls into your own custom player character.
