Gunner, HEAT, PC!

Gunner, HEAT, PC! is a tank simulation built for the audience that grew up on the straight-shooting modern-armor sims of the late 1990s and early 2000s and has been waiting for something new in the genre. The development team identifies themselves as tank nerds making the game they want to play, with attention to authenticity balanced against the goal of being genuinely fun rather than punishingly opaque.

The setting is a fictional conflict in central Germany circa 1985 between NATO and the Warsaw Pact. Playable armored units come from the United States, Soviet Union, German Democratic Republic, and Federal Republic of Germany, each with the loadouts and tactical doctrines of their actual mid-1980s military forces. Fire control simulation, ballistic modeling, and realistic damage all run behind deceptively simple controls.

The planned scope covers a rich single-player campaign mode, skirmish missions, and eventually cooperative multiplayer modes. Infantry and support units round out the tactical environment — tanks weren't built to fight alone, and AI-controlled combined arms forces let armored units operate the way they were actually designed to. The game is built around the principle that simulation depth and gameplay accessibility don't have to be enemies.
