About Marvel's Spider-Man Miles Morales

Marvel's Spider-Man: Miles Morales is Insomniac's standalone follow-up to the 2018 Marvel's Spider-Man, picking up after the events of the original with teenage Miles Morales adjusting to his new home in East Harlem while following in the footsteps of his mentor Peter Parker. The campaign is more focused than the previous game's sprawling arc — a fierce power struggle has broken out between a devious energy corporation and a high-tech criminal army, and Miles has to decide what becoming Spider-Man actually requires of him.

Miles's powers diverge meaningfully from Peter's. Bio-electric venom blasts let him stun and dispatch enemies in ways that change combat fundamentally, and a covert camouflage power adds stealth options that the previous game lacked. Spectacular web-slinging acrobatics, gadgets and the deep combo system carry over from the first game and have been refined further. Mastering when to use venom blasts versus traditional combat, when to vanish into camouflage versus when to drop down into a fight, is most of the moment-to-moment skill.

The setting is the same New York rendered in the first game, but during winter — snow on the streets, holiday lights, the visual register of a city in cold weather — and at the scale of a single neighbourhood Miles is still learning to think of as home. The PC release includes ray-traced reflections and shadows, NVIDIA DLSS 2 and DLSS 3 support, NVIDIA DLAA, AMD FSR 2.1, Intel XeSS, IGTI upscaling, ultra-wide and triple-monitor support, full PlayStation DualSense haptic feedback over wired USB, and customisable mouse-and-keyboard controls.
