A Twisted Tale

A Twisted Tale is a humorous point-and-click adventure inspired by the genre masterpieces that once kept players glued to their computers. It is full of loony characters, unexpected twists and challenging riddles, alongside plenty of explicit and ambiguous references and homages to the big classics.

You accompany Vio on an unintentional journey through various realms, exploring broken cities, pirate ships in the deepest jungle and other unreal places. Along the way she makes the acquaintance of a depressive Death and meets a cast of quirky characters, in a world that does not seem to have much in common with our own.

The whole game is made by a solo developer with a love of retro: background graphics are drawn the old-fashioned way with paper, pencil and ink before being colored digitally, and all animations are hand-drawn frame by frame. The full game spans seven chapters, each carrying Vio into a new world with its own setting, small stories and complex riddles, with the first chapter running roughly six to eight hours and further chapters released as DLC, complete with decisions that affect the game and alternative endings.
