About Mortal Sin
Mortal Sin is a fast, brutal melee-focused roguelike that puts the player in the middle of a nightmare and asks how long they can keep their footing. The combat is built around momentum — chained slashes, bashes and kicks resolve into devastating finishers, limbs come off, blood paints the walls — and the design philosophy is that overconfidence kills as quickly as cowardice does. Every strike matters, and the game is openly hostile to button-mashing.
Procedural generation drives the long-tail. Levels recombine hundreds of hand-crafted rooms with randomised quests and item drops, and a growing roster of classes — from a greatsword-wielding Berserker to a gun-toting Pirate, with a dozen-plus more between them — each carry their own weapons, abilities and synergy patterns. Greatswords, spears, guns, claws and magic all coexist in the arsenal, and the build space rewards experimentation across runs rather than mastering one rigid loadout.
Visually the game commits to a stark graphic-novel-inspired style, with multiple colour palettes and visual modes added in updates so players can match the aesthetic to whatever mood they're carrying into the run. Secret platforming zones tucked into the procedural maps hide rare loot and additional horrors, and the game's ongoing update schedule keeps adding new classes, weapons and run modifiers. The throughline is consistent: fast, skill-based, intentionally punishing, and proud of it.
