About RUN The world in-between
RUN: The world in-between is a die-and-retry platformer with procedurally generated paths. The influences are explicit: Celeste's precision, Dead Cells' randomization, Scourge Bringer's intensity, Super Meat Boy's death frequency. The world in between everything is constantly moving, and your job is to be faster and more precise than the traps that fill it.
Each run generates new level layouts, so memorization doesn't transfer. Pure reflex and pattern recognition carry you forward, with gems scattered through levels feeding into an unlockable memory system that gradually reveals the protagonist's story. Replays let you beat your own best times, and an optimized speedrun mode strips down anything that gets in the way of pace.
Accessibility options let you tune the experience to your reaction time, which makes the genre more inclusive than many of its peers. Artistic direction comes from Encre Mecanique with a striking black-and-white-and-red palette, and Thomas Barrandon scores the chase with appropriately tense music. From the creator of HepHep Fever.
