About Strangeland
Strangeland is a point-and-click adventure from Wormwood Studios, the team behind Primordia, released nearly a decade after that 2012 cult favourite. You wake in a surreal carnival just in time to see a golden-haired woman hurl herself down a bottomless well — for your sake. Until you destroy the Dark Thing shrieking from atop the rollercoaster, she will keep falling, again and again.
The carnival is populated by jeering ravens, an eyeless scribe, a living furnace, a mismade mermaid, and a host of other denizens who answer your questions with riddles, puzzles, and warnings. Unraveling the connection between the dream-carnival and an unspecified "real world" is the central mystery; finding a way out is the central challenge.
Puzzles are open-ended rather than single-solution. One player might use sharpshooting to win a carnival game; another, electrical engineering. One might decipher a strange prophet's wordplay; another, gather visual clues from the environment. The game keeps multiple paths open at most major decisions.
Approximately five hours of gameplay with multiple endings and replayable variant solutions. 640x360 pixel art (twice Primordia's resolution), full professional voice acting, and developer commentary with annotation modes for the references woven throughout.
