The Final Station

The Final Station drops you into the closing chapter of a collapsed world, behind the throttle of thousands of tonnes of locomotive. The infected swarm the surface, but the train gives you something they cannot match: mobility, a route forward, and somewhere to retreat to when the supplies run thin.

Five chapters thread together a journey across the dying landscape, with large inhabited stations bookending each one. Step off the train to explore mysterious and abandoned stations, scavenge for parts and supplies, craft the items you need to keep the engine running, and trade loot at populated stops for weapon upgrades. Ammo is sparse enough that running past most threats beats shooting through them.

Survivors you find along the way come with perks and hindrances both. Whether you usher them to safety, ignore them, or pocket whatever they were carrying is one of the recurring choices the train asks you to make. The world keeps moving down the line either way.
