7 Days to Die

7 Days to Die drops you into Navezgane, a post-apocalyptic county overrun by the undead, with nothing but the clothes you woke up in and whatever you can scavenge in the first hour. Crafting is the spine of the game — over 500 recipes covering tools, weapons, armor, vehicles and electrical gadgets, with rarer schematics tucked into the world to unlock the better stuff. The map runs to roughly 100 square kilometers across five biomes, or you can roll a randomly generated world packed with cities, caves and over 700 distinct points of interest.

Where the game leans away from typical survival peers is in its structural physics. Every wall you build, every roof you slap together, can collapse under its own weight if the design is sloppy. That matters because of the seventh night: each week the blood moon rises and the horde sprints in faster, tougher, and looking for any gap in your fortifications. The cycle of scavenge-by-day, fortify-by-evening, hold-the-line-at-night is the loop the whole game is balanced around.

Underneath the survival layer sits a real RPG progression — five attributes, dozens of perks, over 100 readable books that teach skills, mod-able weapon and armor permutations, vehicles from bicycles up to gyrocopters, NPC traders with quest jobs, and roughly 60 zombie archetypes that get nastier as the game's difficulty curve climbs. Co-op and PvP are both first-class: build a settlement together, or raid someone else's.
