About ARK Survival Evolved
ARK: Survival Evolved is an open-world survival game that strands you naked, freezing and starving on the shores of a mysterious island called the ARK. To stay alive you hunt, harvest resources, craft items, grow crops, research technologies and build shelters against the elements, while managing hunger, thirst, temperature and inventory weight through day-night cycles and randomized weather.
The island's defining feature is its creatures. Over 100 dinosaurs and other primeval beasts roam a dynamic ecosystem with its own predator-and-prey hierarchies, and a challenging capture process lets you knock them unconscious and tame them. Tames carry inventory and equipment, can be ridden and directly controlled, and can be bred across generations through a genetic-inheritance trait system. You also chop forests and mine resources to build massive multi-level structures with a load-bearing support system.
The game is built around persistent multiplayer servers holding 100-plus players, where your character, base and tames remain in the world even when you log off. You form tribes with friends, fight or ally with other players, summon god-like boss creatures as an end-game goal, and can even travel characters and items between a galaxy of ARKs. It supports single-player and player-hosted servers, full mod support, and procedurally generated ARKs for endless variety.
