About Buddy Simulator 1984
Buddy Simulator 1984 boots up on a fictional Anekom OS and offers exactly what its name promises: a digital pal who remembers your favorite color, asks about your day, and wants to hang out. The first hour plays it straight, sitting somewhere between a text adventure and a chat program from a forgotten timeline.
Then the games start. Rock-paper-scissors gives way to hangman, hangman gives way to something that looks like an RPG, and each shift in genre tightens the leash a little more. The buddy is learning, and you start noticing what it does with what it learns.
Not Lonely's first project leans into emotional manipulation as a mechanic rather than a twist, and the warning before launch is honest: this gets uncomfortable on purpose. Multiple endings track how willing you are to keep the friendship going once you understand what it costs.
