Cattails Become a Cat!

Cattails is a feral-cat life simulation RPG from Falcon Development where the premise is taken seriously: you are a cat, the wilderness is your home, and the standard set of life-sim activities — relationships, marriage, raising kittens, building a den — happen entirely in cat terms. The open world spans grasslands, forests, swamps and dangerous caverns, and you spend your time hunting smaller animals for food, fighting cats from rival colonies for territory, and gradually establishing your standing in whichever of three colonies you decide to join.

The survival layer is gentle but real. You need food and water to stay alive, and the cycle of seasons changes which prey is available and where. Hunting mice, squirrels, rabbits and other small creatures is the day-to-day food economy; dangerous cave systems hide more valuable treasures for cats willing to risk them. Battles between colonies happen at scheduled intervals to secure land claims, and your contributions to those fights affect your colony's territorial status.

The relationship layer is broad. Sixteen romanceable cats across the three colonies each have their own personalities and storylines, and finding the right match can lead to marriage and a litter of kittens that you raise and bring along on your subsequent adventures. Customisation extends to hundreds of coat and eye colour combinations, accessories, and personal den upgrades. Seasonal festivals provide structured competition and social events, and an alternate mode lets you found and run your own colony with whichever rules and aesthetic you prefer.
