Fears to Fathom - Norwood Hitchhike

Fears to Fathom: Norwood Hitchhike is the second episode of the episodic psychological horror anthology, where each entry unveils a short story narrated by the people who survived it. You play Holly Gardner, a 19-year-old driving home from a gaming convention.

The traffic is horrible, so Holly takes the long way to avoid it. The detour leads to an unplanned stay at a motel, and what is happening in Norwood Valley reveals itself slowly through the evening. She survives because she makes the right choices: the gameplay grants you those same choices, and the wrong ones don't lead to the ending where someone narrates the story afterwards.

The presentation leans into VHS film aesthetic, photo-realistic graphics, and atmospheric environments. NPCs send texts that arrive on your in-game phone, and player voice activity feeds into the horror layer in moments where being heard matters.
