About INDIKA
INDIKA is a third-person story-driven game set in an alternative late-19th-century Russia, where religious visions and grim physical reality bleed into each other. You play Indika, a young nun who appears outwardly devout and inwardly conflicted — and who can hear the devil himself, who joins her as a horn-headed conversation partner for most of the journey.
Gameplay alternates between exploratory walking through a distorted vision of Russia, environmental puzzles that often play on perspective and scale, and 2D pixel-art mini-games that recount fragments of Indika's troubled past.
The tone draws openly from Dostoevsky and Bulgakov: religious anxiety, dark comedy, the absurdity of institutional life, conversations that drift between the metaphysical and the mundane. The devil is a genuinely good interlocutor — funny, prodding, surprisingly sympathetic in places.
Developed by Odd Meter, a small studio originally based in Moscow and now operating out of Kazakhstan. Published by 11 bit studios. The game is intentionally short and aesthetically loud, foregoing many video-game conventions to fit its own shape.
