Foundation drops the grid that defines most city builders. Streets curve, structures cluster, and your medieval town grows organically across procedurally generated maps with almost no construction constraints. A free-building tool lets you assemble modular buildings from individual parts, then beautify them into proper monuments.

The Painting tool defines how the village grows: paint areas for housing, draw roads, set forest extraction zones, designate patrols. Villagers fill in the rest by taking jobs and threading production chains, while tax policy, trade with neighbors, and military service to the king all factor into a working economy.

Three Estates of the Realm (Labor, Clergy, Kingdom) offer distinct progression paths you can specialize or blend. Aspirations alter the rule set, Creative Mode strips constraints for sandbox-style play, full mod support is integrated, and the original soundtrack from Audinity stretches over 100 minutes of medieval atmosphere.
