About Music Racer
Music Racer is an arcade rhythm racer that uses your own audio library. The game requires you to point it at MP3, Ogg, FLAC or WAV files on your hard drive, or stream from the decentralized AUDIUS music service. Whichever track you pick generates the level: the song's length sets the round duration, the beats determine movement speed, and obstacles spawn in time with the rhythm.
Vehicles range from cars on neon highways to space ships flying through tunnels, all moving forward automatically while you dodge obstacles and collect floating beat tokens. The visual presentation shifts depending on the type of track loaded. A heavy bass-driven song produces dense, fast-arriving obstacles; ambient music yields a calmer, more open course.
The scoring rewards rhythm reading: catching every beat token raises your multiplier, missing them drops it back down. Multiple track environments unlock as you progress, and the relationship between music and movement makes each track a one-time discovery. The developer warns about potential copyright issues when streaming personal tracks, since they don't control what users load.
