About Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion

Sins of a Solar Empire: Rebellion is the stand-alone expansion that turned an already-well-regarded RT4X (real-time 4X) game into the version most players consider definitive. The genre fusion stays the same — explore, expand, exploit, exterminate, all running in real time rather than turns — but Rebellion splits each of the three races (Trader Emergency Coalition, Advent Unity, Vasari Empire) into Loyalist and Rebel factions, each with their own technologies, ships and playstyles.

The lore behind the split is sharp. Trader Loyalists pull into defensive isolation; Trader Rebels conclude the only way to peace is military annihilation of all xenos. Advent Loyalists continue the campaign of revenge against the Traders; Advent Rebels suspect their own Unity has been corrupted from within. Vasari Loyalists abandon cooperation to seize the resources they need by force; Vasari Rebels lean into alliance, taking the other races with them as they flee whatever's pursuing them.

Titan class warships are Rebellion's headline addition. Each faction fields a unique titan with its own strengths and abilities, and these are large enough to tip an engagement on their own. A new capital ship joins each race's fleet, all existing capital ships have been upgraded across four ability levels, and a new corvette-class light attack craft sits at the small end of the fleet roster. The strategic gradient between scout, escort, capital and titan is finally complete.

New victory conditions extend the meta beyond pure conquest — Military, Diplomatic, Research, Last Flagship Standing, Last Capital Standing, and Occupation all offer different paths through the same campaign. Updated visuals, race-specific UI, more than sixty minutes of original music and new tutorials round out the package, alongside performance optimizations that improve the experience for both veteran and newer commanders.
