About The Invincible
The Invincible is a first-person story-driven adventure based on the iconic hard science-fiction novel by Polish futurologist Stanisław Lem. You play Yasna, a highly qualified astrobiologist entangled in a space race that has landed her crew on the unexplored planet Regis III. What begins as a scientific journey quickly turns into a search mission for missing crewmates — and the trail leads toward something that will force Yasna, and the player through her, to fundamentally rethink humanity's assumptions about its place in the universe.
The philosophical weight is the heart of the game. Choices throughout the campaign shape the outcome of the story, leading to one of 11 possible endings to what is genuinely a deeply philosophical work. Yasna stays in contact with her Astrogator through a radio link, his voice aiding her during hard times as humanity's greatest threat gradually emerges. The decisions you make on her behalf carry the weight Lem's source material demanded — the game isn't subtle about its themes, but earns them.
The atompunk atmosphere is unique to the game's adaptation. Various tools — a telemeter, a tracker, a drivable vehicle — give the experience a tactile, retro-futuristic feel grounded in analog technology rather than digital sci-fi conventions. The stunning landscapes of Regis III are themselves part of the experience, with the player drawn into landscapes 'not prepared for us and for which we are not prepared.' Robots, people, creatures — choose whether and how to interact with what you find. Friend, companion, enemy. None of those words mean quite what you assumed before you arrived.
