The Quest

The Quest is a hand-drawn open-world RPG that keeps old-school grid movement and turn-based fights. Monares, a troubled kingdom, has lost the governor of Freymore, and the island has fallen into turmoil, while the mages foresee a dark shadow falling over the realm. Acting as the king's Agent, you set out to learn what is happening and head off the danger.

You choose from five customizable races and shape your character through enchantments, armor, weaponry and a deep skill set, then set out across four cities and untamed country, mountains, caves, lakes and forest. The world is full of inhabitants with their own agendas, some helpful, some greedy or cruel, and your many choices, some of them against the law, lead toward an ending of your own making.

Alongside a long main story sit plenty of optional side quests. You can cast spells, enchant powerful gear, brew potent potions and talk people around to your goals, while the open world layers in a day-night cycle, weather, readable books, pickable locks, houses to break into, dungeons and traps. The inns even host an absorbing card game played with three separate decks.
