Assassin's Creed

Assassin's Creed launched the long-running series, a non-linear action-adventure that follows Altair Ibn-La'Ahad, a Levantine assassin during the Third Crusade. His story is relived through the Animus, a machine that simulates genetic memory, by his 21st-century descendant Desmond Miles.

The setting is 1191, with the Third Crusade tearing the Holy Land apart, and Altair sets out to halt the bloodshed by suppressing both sides of the conflict. As a feared and secretive warrior, he plans his attacks, strikes without mercy and slips away, moving through historically detailed open environments where crowds react to his actions and either help or hinder him. He scales buildings, rides horses and blends into the throng to reach his targets across Jerusalem, Acre and Damascus.

This Director's Cut Edition adds four PC-exclusive investigation memories, including the Rooftop Race Challenge, where players race to a set point, and the Archer Stealth Assassination Challenge, which tasks the player with eliminating all archers in a given zone to aid fellow assassins.
