Super Fancy Pants Adventure

Super Fancy Pants Adventure is the fourth and most complete entry in Brad Borne's decade-long series, started back in 2006 as a browser experiment that eventually racked up more than a hundred million plays. The pitch hasn't changed since: a stick-figure platformer where the priority is making speed and tight controls feel like the same thing. The new game collects everything Borne worked out over the previous three Worlds and rebuilds it as a standalone title.

The runs themselves cover 56 stages split across 5 themed levels, with secret doors stitched through the world that open onto more demanding bonus challenges. Movement carries through wall-slides, slope-grinds and aerial flips smoothly enough that good players can chain whole stages without touching neutral ground. Combat is new to this version — a fountain pen doubles as a sword and lets Fancy Pants Man slash through enemies as he sprints.

More than 20 pants and hats sit waiting to be unlocked through the challenge stages, which is the game's nod to collection without ever stalling its pace. Every animation frame is drawn by hand, and the whole thing runs at a locked 60fps — which matters more than usual here, because the platforming is tight enough that any drop would be felt immediately.
