Beat Cop

Beat Cop drops you into a New York that behaves more like a beast than a city. You play Jack Kelly, a former detective framed for a murder, degraded and forgotten by his old colleagues. Finding the truth behind the whole terrible mess is his last chance, and nobody else cares enough to look.

Life on the beat is grim and complicated. A new boss treats you with contempt, your wife bleeds you for money, and the local mafia would happily see you dead. In between, there is the ordinary work of a patrol officer to handle: writing tickets, reprimanding pedestrians and keeping your stretch of Brooklyn in line.

The story is nonlinear and branches toward multiple endings as you turn over every stone in the city, though some things were never meant to surface. The whole thing channels the essence of 1980s cop shows, letting you be slicker than Sonny Crockett and tougher than Dirty Harry, with witty comebacks, old-school fists when those fail, and a streak of black humor running through it all.
