About Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy

Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy collects the first three Crash Bandicoot games — the original Crash Bandicoot, Crash Bandicoot 2: Cortex Strikes Back, and Crash Bandicoot 3: Warped — all remastered with modern graphics, animation and audio while preserving the original level design and gameplay feel. For fans of the original PS1 trilogy, this is the version that lets you replay these games without the hardware limitations of the era getting in the way.

The remaster work is substantial. Character models, environments, lighting and effects have all been completely rebuilt. Animations are smoother. The visuals are detailed enough to make the original games look like new releases rather than ports, while the controls and level layouts remain faithful enough that veteran players will recognize every jump and platform from memory.

The original trilogy's content is the bulk of the package — three full campaigns of classic 3D platforming across dozens of levels each, with the era's signature mix of forward-running corridors, jungle levels, ice slides, motorbike sections, jet ski races, time travel themes and challenging boss fights. Each game's character roster, weapons, time-attack modes and bonus content are all included.

Two additional levels round out the package. Stormy Ascent — the notorious level cut from the original Crash Bandicoot for being too difficult — is finally playable, with retracting steps, vial-throwing lab assistants, flying birds, moving platforms and iron spikes all in their full unforgiving glory. Future Tense is the first all-new level built for the original trilogy's gameplay in almost twenty years, drawing inspiration from the cut Waterfall Level and set in Warped's futuristic skyscraper aesthetic. Both are aimed at hardcore Crash veterans who want to feel the original frustration sharpened by modern level design.
