About Magicraft
Magicraft is a magic-focused action roguelike with a self-described "dark spoof" tone. You're a brave (or unlucky) traveller from another world who pulls a legendary staff from a stone and inherits the job of saving a continent invaded by ancient gods.
The spell-combination system is the core hook. 100+ spells can be combined into unexpected effects — summoner builds, elemental mage builds, melee mage builds — with combinations the developer openly admits they can't fully enumerate. Each run is a fresh permutation of which spells you draft and how you stack them.
The roguelike side runs deep: 100 unique staves with distinct attributes, 80 relics that change character appearance and abilities, nine starting character sets, and blacksmiths/shops between encounters to refine builds. Five chapters take you from dense forests through purgatory and time-space rifts to the Demon Lord.
Bonus levels with environmental puzzles drop in between combat encounters, awarding new relics and spells for clearing them with wisdom rather than firepower. The game is openly Chinese-developed and has a slightly odd English translation that adds to the chaotic-fantasy vibe.
