About Reventure

Reventure is a 2D adventure platformer whose entire central design is that there are one hundred different endings. The standard hero's-quest premise — wake up, talk to your mentor, set off to rescue the princess — is just the polite cover story. Almost any choice you make about what to do, where to go, or who to ignore terminates the game in a different way, and the only way to discover the game's actual shape is to keep dying, restarting, and trying something you haven't done yet.

The world doesn't fundamentally rearrange between runs — though there's a layer of state that does change, which the game keeps for you to discover on your own. What changes between attempts is you: the knowledge you've accumulated about NPCs, environmental details, hidden mechanics, secret items, and the ways small choices ripple into endings you'd never have considered. Solutions are rarely complex once you see them; the challenge is in the noticing.

Unlocks layer additional playable characters, costumes, visual effects and hint systems over the campaign as you find more endings. The writing is heavy on pop-culture references and dry self-aware humour, and a beautifully crafted soundtrack by Dani Parejo carries the tone across the dozens of small narrative branches. Solo developer Pixelatto framed the project as fundamentally a long string of "aha" moments stacked on top of each other, and it largely delivers exactly that — a small game whose memorability comes from how many things it manages to be in sequence.
