Shardpunk

Shardpunk is set in the ruins of a Victorian-steampunk Capitol that has already fallen to the Rat Swarm. The war is lost and you're on the run. Your job is to gather survivors, scavenge resources, and reach the safety of fusion-core-operated bunkers without losing too much of your crew along the way.

The gameplay mixes XCOM-style turn-based tactical combat with Darkest Dungeon-style hard choices at the bunker layer. In the field, grid-based levels open up for exploration and tactical positioning against the endless rat horde — slow them down, hold positions, retreat to extract resources, find shelter before the swarm overruns you. At the bunker, you decide who gets the last medpack, who eats the last rations, and which characters with their unique perks and shortcomings to send out next.

The Capitol falls across three districts of progressively more vicious enemies, rising emergency levels, and dwindling supplies. The steampunk arsenal includes weapons and technologies that require mending and cooling so they don't backfire mid-fight. Each crew member carries unique abilities and personal traits that affect their teammates. Pixel-art visuals set the Victorian mood and the fusion-core explosions provide the appropriate scale of carnage when things go wrong.
