Vagante

Vagante is a roguelike-inspired action platformer set in a dark fantasy world of monsters, demons and crooks, where adventurers travel into uncharted territory chasing fame and wealth despite the high body count of the profession. The framing story is small and classic: a rumor about an unfathomable treasure guarded by a cave at the edge of the woods. A handful of adventurers have already gone in. None have come back. You set out anyway.

The gameplay loop is permadeath roguelike with procedurally generated levels — every run is freshly arranged, with monsters, traps, treasure layouts and even some structural elements rolled new. You pick a class (each with its own playstyle), a skin and a background, and customize the build further with unique class skills selected at every level up. Enchanted items found in dungeons can transform a run with game-changing abilities, and the Book of Secrets keeps track of unlocked classes, backgrounds, music and other discoveries between runs.

Four distinct areas with their own enemy rosters, unique bosses and trap types form the main descent. Co-op support extends to four players both locally and online through Steam, which turns the precision-platformer survival game into a chaotic group expedition where coordinating who's reviving who and who's picking up what matters as much as raw skill. The difficulty is tough but built around fair rules — death always teaches you something, and the next run usually goes a little further.
