About WHAT THE GOLF
WHAT THE GOLF? is built on the premise of golf as a starting point and then ignored. Every course in the game is a different kind of golf, where one might involve actual clubs and balls and one involves launching office chairs through skyscraper windows. Triband, the Danish studio behind it, treats consistency as the enemy of comedy.
The puzzle structure runs across dozens of themed worlds — Sporty Sports!, It's Snowtime, A Hole New World — with hundreds of levels each rebuilding the rules of golf around toasters, hot dogs, frozen rubber gloves, or whatever else they decided to put in the editor that week. Some levels are clever, some are absurd, all are short.
Daily courses cycle through new challenges with prizes of varying utility. A level editor lets you build your own and share them. Steam Remote Play Together brings a friend in for couch-mode chaos. The whole package is openly aimed at people who hate golf, built by people the studio's marketing describes as having no respect for it.
