With You

With You is a cooperative puzzle game designed by Carol Mertz as her MFA thesis at the NYU Game Center, intended specifically as a playful space for couples and close partners. Two players control two characters through short, wordless levels that gradually pull the pair closer together as they navigate a world that seems to simultaneously keep them apart and bring them together.

The controls are intentionally awkward. The world is intentionally difficult to traverse. Both choices push the players to depend on each other: one character may have abilities the other lacks, one may anchor while the other reaches, and trust falls or coordinated jumps require honest communication. The actions and goals vary in intimacy across the campaign.

The developer frames it as a small, slightly wonky student project made with care rather than a polished commercial product, and recommends it for any pair of people willing to slow down and collaborate, romantic or otherwise. The runtime is short, the physics and platforming challenges are gentle rather than punishing, and the game's success is measured in conversations rather than completion times.
